The Guild was formed in 1987 by a group of professional therapists who were concerned about the standard of training and expertise in their profession.
The main objectives of the Guild are-
1. To advance the knowledge, science and practise of psychophysical therapy and to maintain the highest ethical standards in the use of psychophysical therapy; and
2. To stimulate public interest in psychophysical therapy and to assist members in keeping up to date with developments in psychophysical therapy.
The Guild holds regular meetings, which are open to all.
Guest speakers are invited to present papers and give demonstrations. The Guild provides a constructive support and referral system for members and the public.
The Journal of the Psychophysical Therapists Guild of Australia is distributed free to all members and is available by subscription.
All members are sworn to the "Healers Oath" and are required to comply with the Guild's "Code of Ethics".
